Aiming to enhance housing stock efficiency, VIVID has awarded a £5m, 24-month contract to Nationwide Windows (UK) for the supply and installation of high-performance Windows and Doors across social housing properties in the South East and South West. This project, procured through an LHC framework, is designed to improve energy efficiency, and provide long-term durability in VIVID’s general needs housing. The West Dunbartonshire Council has awarded a £10m, 24-month Maintenance Contract for Heating, Compliance and Ancillary Works to City Technical Services to manage the annual servicing, breakdown repairs, and commissioning of wet central heating systems across 9,000 domestic properties. This contract ensures regulatory compliance, system efficiency, and responsive maintenance services, covering a mix of gas, electric, and communal heating systems. Additionally, the contract includes ancillary maintenance tasks, ensuring that homes remain warm and functional throughout the contract period.
Focusing on large-scale repairs and maintenance, Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council has awarded two separate lots, a 48-month term contract valued at £50m in total. The first lot for General Building Fabric worth £20m is secured by Graham Asset Management (t/a GRAHAM) and second lot for Mechanical and Electrical Services £30m is secured by Dodd Group Midlands. The scope includes emergency response, statutory inspections, refurbishment projects, and ongoing maintenance, ensuring that critical infrastructure remains operational, compliant, and in excellent condition across Sandwell’s public assets (excluding council housing). Additionally, investing in new residential development, it has appointed TR Partnership Homes to construct a £3.99m, 8-month housing development at Hawes Lane, Rowley Regis. The project consists of 15 new dwellings, including semi-detached homes, a detached house, bungalows, and two blocks of flats. The development also includes landscaping, drainage improvements, infrastructure upgrades, and modern construction techniques to ensure high-quality, energy-efficient homes.

Addressing compliance in asbestos management, Wakefield & District Housing (WDH) has secured Environtec, McHale Contracts and Plant Environmental t/a MCP Environment, Tersus Consultancy, The Testing Lab to undertake a £2.6m, 48-month contract for Asbestos Surveys across social housing properties in Yorkshire and the Humber and the East Midlands. The project involves detailed asbestos inspections, risk assessments, and compliance reporting, ensuring the safety of tenants and adherence to regulatory standards.
