The social housing sector is experiencing a wave of investment, with new contracts driving major improvements in repairs, maintenance, and sustainable housing solutions.

Strengthening its commitment to high-quality housing maintenance, Peabody Trust has awarded Axis Europe two significant contracts aimed at enhancing social housing standards in London. The first, a £40.5m contract for Repair and Maintenance Services Lot 6 spanning 54 months, will focus on comprehensive responsive and major repairs, including pest control, disrepair, damp, mould, condensation, domestic electrical repairs, and void property management across the designated region, ensuring the long-term upkeep of Peabody’s housing stock while improving residents’ daily living conditions. Additionally, Axis Europe has also secured a £599k Refurbishment Works contract for 110-112 Landor Road, set to be completed over five months. This project will deliver essential upgrades, modernizing living spaces with energy-efficient improvements to create safer and more comfortable homes for tenants.

Delivering a transformative urban development, Cardiff Council has partnered with Goldbeck Construction, Aviva Investors, and The Litmus Partnership for the ambitious Atlantic Wharf Mixed-Use Development – Area A. This £78m project, spanning 48 months, will contribute to Cardiff’s urban regeneration by introducing new residential and commercial spaces, further boosting the local economy and enhancing housing availability. Elevating kitchen standards for social housing tenants, Flagship Housing Ltd has awarded Bell Group a £200k contract for a three-month Kitchen Upgrade program in the East of England. This initiative will modernize approximately 30 kitchens, improving functionality and quality for residents.

Enhancing energy efficiency in social housing, North Yorkshire Council has appointed Home Utility Group to implement a £2.5m Gas Boiler Replacement Scheme over the next 48 months. This critical project will replace outdated domestic heating systems, helping reduce social housing energy consumption and cut household costs while aligning with sustainability goals. Delivering essential flooring upgrades, North Tyneside Council has established a £1.2m Framework for Floor Covering Installations spanning 24 months, with an option for two 12-month extensions. Awarded to Crown Flooring, Newdeck Flooring, and Northern Floorcraft, this framework ensures skilled contractors are available for programmed and responsive repairs across both housing and non-housing properties. Covering kitchen, bathroom, and wet room flooring, the framework prioritizes high-quality installations while supporting North Tyneside Council’s long-term maintenance goals. Strengthening social housing resilience, ng Homes has awarded Briden Construction Group and KPM Contractors a £166k, 36-month Framework Agreement for Reactive Roof Repairs in North Glasgow. This project involves the ad hoc repair of roofing structures, ensuring a rapid response to maintenance issues while maintaining compliance with Scotland’s Public Contracts Regulations 2015. Regular reporting on completed work will be a key component, reinforcing transparency and quality assurance for the client.
