Social housing contracts are sparking big investments in repairs, new construction, and safety upgrades, transforming communities across the country.
Setting the pace for the awards, Efficiency East Midlands Ltd (EEM) has secured the Communal Entrance Doors Framework – EEM0063, a 48-month, £255m contract in England and Wales, with winning suppliers including F Bamford (Engineering), EA-RS Fire Engineering t/a CCSS Fire & Security, Grosvenor Aptec, Security Surveillance, and Bradbury Group. Following suit, a parallel lot, Communal Entrance Doors Framework under the same reference was awarded to ABCA Systems t/a HBS Fabrication NW and Martec Engineering, emphasizing robust entryway solutions. The Glasgow City Council’s Statutory Private Sector Housing Repairs Framework, a 48-month contract valued at £12m and awarded to Cairn Building Solutions, Clark Contracts, Contract Building Services (Scotland), Go-Wright, and 5 other contractors, focuses on critical statutory repairs that ensure buildings are wind and water-tight and structurally secure.
Greenwich London Borough’s Additional Voids, a 25-month, £2.4m contract awarded to ATPB, Max Building Services, and Purdy Contracts, addresses boroughwide void repair works. On the development front, Pembrokeshire County Council has initiated an 18-month package deal for affordable housing in Pembroke Dock, a £10.05m contract awarded to Castell Construction to deliver approximately 35 social housing units.
Advancing maintenance services, Surrey County Council’s Handy Person (HP) service, a 36-month contract worth £700k awarded to Elmbridge Borough Council, Epsom and Ewell Borough Council, Guildford Borough Council, Mole Valley District Council, Runnymede Borough Council, Spelthorne Borough Council, Surrey Heath Borough Council, Tandridge District Council, Waverley Borough Council, Woking Borough Council, Reigate and Banstead Borough Council, delivers essential low-level repairs and adaptations to enhance home safety and independence. Enhancing property management, Housing 21 has awarded a 48-month Gas Appliance Servicing & Repairs contract worth £1.2m to Dynamic FM for periodic servicing and emergency call-outs, while its equally valued 48-month Electric Servicing and Repairs contract was granted to Frontline (Northwest) for comprehensive electrical upgrades and maintenance.
Furthering proactive upkeep, Housing 21’s Responsive Repair and Maintenance Works contract, a 48-month agreement valued at £2.1m awarded to Dynamic FM, ensures continuous property maintenance and improvement. Finally, B3Living’s Asbestos Surveying Services contract, a 48-month tender valued at £600k awarded to Spectra Analysis Services in the East of England, underscores the commitment to safety and compliance through effective asbestos removal.
