A crucial contract in the repairs and maintenance category has been awarded by Trident Housing Association Ltd. to L Daniels Property Maintenance. Valued at £512k, this seven-month project involves the replacement of approximately 56 dispersed kitchens across the West Midlands. The initiative aims to modernize existing social housing stock, ensuring that tenants benefit from improved facilities that meet contemporary living standards. Focusing on accessibility improvements, Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council has allocated £249k to Structec (NW), Bentham Building & Civil Engineering, Franks Associates, and Mobility Care Services for the provision of Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) Adaptations, utilising the framework agreement. Over a three-month period, this contract will facilitate the installation of essential modifications, such as ramps, widened doorways, and bathroom adaptations, to support residents with disabilities in leading more independent lives.

In a major step towards urban regeneration, Lambeth London Borough has engaged London Square Developments for the Growing Brixton’s Rec Quarter project, a transformative initiative valued at £161.97m. Spanning 111 months, this large-scale development will revitalize Brixton’s residential and commercial landscape, delivering new housing units and community spaces while enhancing local infrastructure. Supporting affordable housing expansion, Caledonia Housing Association Ltd has signed a £4.63m agreement with Ogilvie Homes for the Acquisition of Affordable Housing in Perth. The 24-month contract is designed to increase the availability of cost-effective homes, catering to growing demand in the region.

Addressing air quality and building compliance, Dundee City Council has appointed Perfect Service Solutions for a £361k, 36-month contract focused on the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Cleanliness in Air Handling Ductwork. The contract includes regular servicing and urgent repair work, ensuring optimum air quality and compliance with health regulations in various Dundee City Council properties.

In the realm of landscaping and estate maintenance, North Lanarkshire Council has launched a £5.74m, 36-month contract to provide a Garden Assistance Scheme and Ad-Hoc Garden Works Service. This initiative, covering multiple regions across North Lanarkshire, aims to assist elderly and infirm residents by maintaining gardens, performing grass cutting, hedge trimming, weed control, and general landscaping. The contract has been split among six contractors, each responsible for a designated area: Wishaw, Shotts – Tivoli Group, Coatbridge – Greenerleaf Estate Maintenance, Kilsyth, Moodiesburn – Caledonian Maintenance Services, Airdrie, Cumbernauld – Grass Grow Garden Maintenance, Bellshill – M Squared (Scotland). Finally, ensuring water safety and regulatory compliance, Luton Borough Council has awarded a £800k, 36-month contract to SMS Environmental for water hygiene services. This project encompasses temperature monitoring, bacterial sampling, and preventative maintenance to meet ACoP L8 regulations, reducing the risk of Legionella bacteria in residential properties.
