Driving Progress in Social Housing– Major Investments in Repairs, Construction & Compliance

Upgrading kitchens and bathrooms, the North Tyneside Council has called off A & J Keith for a £511k contract over 5 months to install new kitchens and bathrooms at High Farm South. This initiative is part of a broader plan to modernize and improve living conditions for tenants. Delivering external adaptation works to housing properties, Central Bedfordshire Council has awarded BSG Property Services a £110k contract for External Adaptation Works to Housing Properties across Central Bedfordshire. This 24-month agreement, with an optional 12-month extension, focuses on accessibility enhancements and necessary modifications to support residents needs. New residential development in Pennal, Adra has contracted Owens Building & Roofing to deliver a £1.59m residential development project at MaesTeg. Over 12 months, the project will see the construction of five new housing units, boosting local housing supply. 

Enhancing highways and street lighting infrastructure, the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, in partnership with City of York Council and North Lincolnshire Council, has signed a £13.9m 48-month framework for Highways Labour and Street Lighting Services. Awarded to E.On Energy Solutions, Heneghan & Sons, Jones Lighting, Kingfisher Lighting, and Lighting & Signs, this initiative ensures improved street lighting and road maintenance across key regions. Securing comprehensive waste management solutions, the North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative has awarded an extensive £800m contract for Total Waste Management Services III across the UK. The 48-month framework, involving 27 suppliers such as Stone Technologies, B&M Waste Services, and Go Green Ltd., aims to enhance sustainability and efficiency in housing waste management through 11 specialized lots general waste, food waste, electrical waste (WEEE), healthcare waste (offensive, treatment, incineration), sharps disposal, washroom waste, confidential shredding, secure IT recycling, and textile disposal.

Roofing upgrade in Tipton, the Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council has awarded R.Wood Roofing a 1-month contract for the replacement of a valley gutter on Alexandra Road. This roofing project aims to extend the lifespan of housing stock, ensuring long-term protection for residents. Supplying kitchen units for social housing projects, Plymouth Community Homes has secured a £10.8m agreement with Howdens Joinery for the supply of kitchen units across Plymouth, Cornwall, West Devon, and South Hams. Running for 36 months, this contract supports ongoing refurbishment and maintenance programs in the region.
