From void refurbishments to urban regeneration, new social housing contracts reinforce investment in quality housing, sustainability, and tenant well-being.

Hull City Council has commissioned a major £120m residential development project in Kingston upon Hull has been awarded to Muse Developments under the DPS Large Sites framework. This 180-month project involves the master-planning and construction of new housing, commercial spaces, and supporting infrastructure within the East Bank Urban Village. Additionally, in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire County Council has awarded a £1.1m contract to E.W Beard for the conversion of Oathill Lodge into a small children’s home, under the JCT 2016 Minor Works with Contractor’s Design framework. Procured via Direct Award on the Pagabo National Framework for Medium Works 2023 (Lot 2 – Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire), this 12-month project includes structural modifications, interior refurbishments, roof repairs, mechanical and electrical upgrades, fire safety enhancements, and accessibility adaptations.

In Harrogate, North Yorkshire Council has awarded a £39k contract to J Wood Group for void property refurbishments, including new kitchens, bathrooms, full internal decorations, and repairs. This short-term three-month project aims to bring vacant properties back into use efficiently. Meanwhile, Rother District Council has awarded a £2.4m Grounds Maintenance Services contract to Blenwood, spanning 60 months, to ensure the ongoing upkeep and enhancement of public green spaces, communal gardens, and estate landscapes across its social housing stock. The contract covers grass cutting, hedge trimming, tree care, weed control, and seasonal planting, contributing to biodiversity, environmental sustainability, and improved outdoor spaces.

Compliance and safety remain a priority, as reflected in Flagship Housing Group’s £491k asbestos removal contract, awarded to Rilmac Insulation for 24 months. This project covers asbestos remediation in communal and residential properties across the East of England, ensuring compliance with UK health and safety regulations and improved tenant welfare. LiveWest Homes Ltd has awarded a £426k roof refurbishment contract to JS Roofing & Building for works at Pendarves Flats in Penzance. This 8-month project covers comprehensive roofing upgrades, including structural repairs, waterproofing, insulation improvements, and weatherproofing treatments, ensuring compliance with modern building standards and enhanced energy efficiency for residents.
