Major decarbonisation & retrofit initiative, Thanet District Council has awarded a £36.3m contract to Mears following a Further Competition under Decarbonisation Retro-Fit Framework for a 7-month project focusing on retrofit and decarbonisation works. This initiative aims to enhance energy efficiency across the council’s housing stock, aligning with sustainability goals. Comprehensive FM partnership secured, Cheshire West and Chester Council has entrusted Equans Services via an ESPO (Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation) Framework with a £90m 60-month facilities management contract. The supplier will oversee essential facilities management services, ensuring property upkeep and operational efficiency across the council’s housing portfolio.
Residential development breaks ground, Bristol City Council has called off Stepnell via Westworks a £7.6m contract spanning 22 months for the Greville Housing Development Scheme. This project will deliver much-needed residential units, addressing local housing demand. Staffordshire County Council has called off multiple contractors under its £2m, 14-month Maintenance and Minor Works Framework to deliver key projects across social housing, education, and commercial sectors. Awarded firms include G Evans (Services), R A Edwards & Partners, Bourne Electrical Contractors, M W Cripwell, and Fords of Blythe Bridge, covering general building, mechanical, and electrical works.
Powys County Council has established a £1.68m, 36-month Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for Minor Construction Works, covering property maintenance, refurbishments, new buildings, roofing, adaptations, and extensions. Awarded contractors, including Roofing Technologies, Cooper & Williams, M & J Group, David Jones Building Contractors, and Grosvenor Aptec, will act as Principal Contractors for projects across the county. Muir Homes has been awarded a £1.66m, 12-month contract by Kingdom Housing Association Ltd to design and build new affordable housing in Fife. The project, part of a collaboration with Fife Council, is set to begin in 2025 and complete in 2026, using a negotiated procedure due to site ownership requirements.
