Cumberland Council-
Cumberland Council is set to transform Allerdale House into a modern facility for the HM Coroners Service. Awarded to Thomas Armstrong Ltd, the 26-week refurbishment will deliver structural improvements, upgraded facilities, and advanced AV technology, ensuring a purpose-built space for vital public services. Managed under an NEC3 contract, the project maximises efficiency while making the best use of existing council assets. This investment reflects the council’s commitment to enhancing public services and community infrastructure.
Islington Council-
Islington Council is reinforcing fire safety with a six-month, £2m contract extension with AJS Ltd, ensuring critical upgrades like new fire doors and alarm systems while keeping costs under control. Additionally, two long-term contracts have been awarded to enhance fire protection and detection across 35,000 homes and 4,500 buildings. These measures will provide stronger fire safety compliance and long-term security for residents, demonstrating the council’s commitment to safer housing.
Kensington and Chelsea London Borough-
Kensington and Chelsea is making major strides in council housing safety and resilience. Seville Developments Ltd will deliver £447,800 in urgent fire safety upgrades within 16 weeks, while the Cremorne Estate undergoes a £431,400 revamp, improving mechanical, electrical, and external works. A further £400,000 investment will enhance communal and emergency lighting, boosting fire safety and energy efficiency. These upgrades reflect the borough’s commitment to creating safer, smarter, and more sustainable homes for residents.

Leeds City Council is strengthening its commitment to warm and energy-efficient homes with a £3m per-year contract for domestic heating materials. With two optional 12-month extensions, the deal guarantees long-term reliability, helping residents stay warm, safe, and comfortable all year round.
Liverpool City Council-
A new refurbishment project has been approved to create a four-placement children’s home, with planning set for April 2025 and construction beginning in October. At the same time, essential ceiling repairs will be carried out under a 12-week contract starting in April 2025. These initiatives highlight a commitment to improving community services and maintaining historic buildings, ensuring safe, modern spaces for residents while preserving important architectural heritage.
North Yorkshire Council-
North Yorkshire Council is driving housing improvements with key refurbishments and essential maintenance. Empty homes will be upgraded to modern energy standards by 2024/25, while two specialist contracts launching in April/May 2025 will address damp, mould, and timber issues. Essential drainage and electrical upgrades, including emergency callouts, will enhance safety. Additionally, two roof repair contracts will cover structures, coverings, and roofline services.
